  • How do I know if therapy is right for me?

We all go through difficult situations in life and can be in need of additional support or assistance. Therapy is for people who realize they need help, and that is something to be admired. You are taking responsibility by accepting where you're at in life and making a commitment to change the situation by seeking therapy. Therapy is not intended for long term or lifetime. It is to provide long-lasting benefits, the tools you need to avoid triggers, stop damaging patterns, improve your relationships, and overcome whatever challenges you face.

  • What will therapy be like?

Our sessions are virtual. Each session is individualized to that person’s specific goals and needs. You can expect to discuss any current events happening in your life or any topics that you feel you need to addressed. It is important to understand that you will get more results from therapy if you actively participate in the process. The ultimate purpose of therapy is to help you bring what you learn in session back into your life. Therefore, your therapist may suggest some things you can do outside of therapy to support your process.

  • Is therapy confidential?

Confidentiality is one of the most important components between your therapist and yourself as a client. Virtual sessions are through a HIPPA compliant system and can be completed in the privacy of your own home. Successful therapy requires a high degree of trust, not discussed anywhere but the therapist's office with a few exceptions. (indicated below). Each client signs a confidential disclosure agreement. By law we cannot release this information without obtaining your written permission.

Texas state law and professional ethics require therapists to report the following to the proper authorities:

-Suspected abuse or neglect of children or dependent adults

-Suspect that the client is seriously in danger of harming him/herself

-Suspect that the client was previously sexually abused by a therapist/ counselor or member of mental health
